Message from Executive Director

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the website of Human Development & Community Services (HDCS).

Our vision is to be a living witness to God’s great love in Nepal. In all that we do, we seek God’s guidance and wisdom, and through all that we do, we seek to bring Him glory and praise!

At HDCS, we have a deep concern for those considered “the least of these” by society: the poor, the sick, the needy, the vulnerable and the outcast. We seek to come alongside those who are in distress, those who have lost hope in their lives, those who are in need of God’s love.In our project areas of education, community development and health services, like the Good Samaritan, we are committed to serve, to support and to love all those whom we encounter.

We are supported by individuals, groups and organizations from around the world: financially, technically and through service and prayer across all of our projects. Please pray for the country of Nepal at this time in particular. The recent political changes have brought renewed uncertainty over Nepal. We are confident in God’s plan for Nepal and He continues to move mightily in this land. Pray that He will continue to guide and lead Nepal to a bright future.

Tirtha Thapa

S P Kalaunee, the Acting Executive Director

Mr. S P Kalaunee has been appointed the Acting Executive Director. Since the Executive Director Dr Tirtha Thapa is on study leave for his PhD study in Thailand, this decision was taken by HDCS Board on 12 December 2009. Mr. Kalaunee has worked as the Administration Director of the organization for about last four years and has also served as the Coordinator of the Projects Coordination Team, which includes the in charges of all the projects of HDCS. Having a long experience in teaching and management of the educational institution, Mr. Kalaunee has Masters Degree in Sociology, Masters in English, Post Graduate degree in Law and Education. We'd like to ask you for your continuous prayers and support.
